OK, tonight my pictures are pretty nominal – I wanted to post a progress report, but I don’t have the heart to really work at the photos:
Here is my little color experiment all quilted – fusible applique is fun to horse around with, especially as a color study. Here’s another little ditty:
There’s something still missing on this one – haven’t quite put my finger on it, but maybe it will become clearer if I step away from it for a day or so.
Remember this start? The more I looked at it, I felt it was not going the right direction so, here’s a hint of what I did:
Of course, DH was less than thrilled, but I’m all jazzed about it again!
I also finished quilting the center of black and white optic squares:
There’s a little tutorial that I need to post on a slightly different method of Quilt As You Go QAYG. It really helped make this 50″ x 60″ center VERY manageable. I am going to use a different method of QAYG to add the herringbone borders, but I decided to step back from the project for a couple of weeks.
When something becomes too important, then it has too much power over my mind – time to put it back in it’s place!
This weekend we’re going to see DH #1 in Chicago – no time for quilting, but that’s not a bad thing! I do have my sketchbook, a recipe magazine, and a couple of quilt books to look at – it’s a 3 hour drive, so I’ll have some car time to kill!
All the best – Chris
