Triple Chocolate-y Chip Cake

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 4 serving size package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • ¾ c. cooking oil
  • 1 8 oz carton sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
  • Powdered sugar
  1. Grease and flour 10” Bundt pan.
  2. In large mixing bow, combine cake mix, pudding mix, oil, sour cream, eggs and water.  Beat with an electric mixer on low for 30 seconds to combine.  Beat on medium to high speed for 2 additional minutes.  Batter will be thick.
  3. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.  Pour into prepared pan.
  4. Bake at 350o for 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center of cake comes out clean.  (Watch carefully – start checking cake after about 45 minutes!)
  5. Cool in pan on wire rack for about 15 minutes.  Remove from pan and cool completely.  Sift powdered sugar over cake.
